Description
Led by EBMC’s Men of Color Deep Refuge Group
Have you explored the benefits of collective movement meditation practices?
This half daylong explores the benefits of cultivating movement meditation practices in a peer-led deep practice container. This event is designed to explore our fears and desires of being witnessed, publically, as individual and collective bodies. In our supportive community, we will explore ways community movement practices increase the sustainability of healing for self-identified Men of Color by making the invisible, visible. We encourage practitioners to challenge their mindfulness practices by witnessing this journey and partaking in the collective wisdom of the Men of Color community for the benefit of all beings.
Together, we will follow a pre-determined route for our movement practice, and will honor community dialogue, and brief sitting meditation periods to facilitate our time together. This event is designed to be inclusive of all self-identified men of color regardless of sexuality, gender expression, and/or physical ability. We value our intersectional identities and we hope that you will join us for this community event!
In order to increase inclusivity and accessibility of this event by our disabled brothers of color, we invite those with ambulatory [walking] restrictions to contact us in advance for additional support, such as, hosting a more mostationary meditation practice in a public space at the end of the route.
EBMC has a community kitchen available for use, with tea, water, a refrigerator and microwave available. You are invited to bring your own lunch for this event.
Please note that no one will be turned away for lack of funds. If you would like to explore any EBMC volunteer positions, please send an email expressing your interest to admin@eastbaymeditation.org
